Salmon Aquaculture Capacity Auction – Norway
In 2024, Innovative Auctions supported the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries in allocating new salmon-production capacity through auction.
We reviewed the auction rules and historical bid data against the authority’s policy objectives, with particular attention to the treatment and allocation of exit bids.
Our team built a custom auction platform and allocation logic capable of identifying the optimal combination of exit bids. The implementation went through structured quality assurance and verification before bidder access.
A dedicated test environment supported technical testing, procedural rehearsals, and refinements to the auction setup. We also prepared the bidder manual, produced training videos, operated a mock auction, and delivered individual training where needed.
Innovative Auctions provided remote operational and technical support throughout the two-day live auction. The process successfully allocated all available production capacity.
